THE HASTINGS STRIKE.

Press Association. Napier, April 13,g Mr Culver, Inspector of Factories and Awards, accompanied by Mr Johns, his successor, had an interview this afternoon with the Bakers’ carters who are on strike at Hastings. Theimen were advised to resome work, and if they had not received any back pay to put in claims for it. ThegMnster Bakers are refusing to put on men in place of the strikers many of whom are married men and give evidence of a desire to come to terms and resume work. They wait upon the employers to-night and discuss the situation. The employers and bakehouse hands took the delivery carts around this morning, and trade is uninterrupted.
