TAIHAPE.
From Our Own Correspondent. Mrs John Carmody died at Taihape on Friday night after a short, but painful illness. The deceased was a lady respected by all who had the pleasure of her acquaintance, and*,.her demise at" the early age of 44 is greatly-regretted. She left a family of five sons and two daughters. Our sympathies are indeed with the bereaved husband and family. Her funeral took place on Sunday, the 12th, and a large number of friends from all over the district attended. The burial service was conducted by the Rev. Father La Croix.
The Rev. Copeland, whojis leaving this week for Eltham, preached last sermon in Taihape yesterday. The church was packed to the doors, even the vestry at the back of the pulpit being full. His successor, the Rev. Tinsley, will preach here next Sunday evening. The weather during the past week has been beautiful, being more like spring. The grass is looking splendid and we should say that feed will be good after all for the winter.
