MARTON HARRIERS’ CLUB.
The meeting to form a Harriers Club at Marton was largely attended last evening. The Yen. Archdeacon Towgood was elected Chairman. He said he was glad to hoar of the keen interest being taken in this active form of sport, in which no gambling element was ever introduced. The movement ■, would have his best support. Mr Allison, one of the convenors of the meeting, then stated the objects of the Club, after which the Rev. Father Molloy, proposed ‘That a Marton Harriers Club be formed”. This was seconded by Mr Allison, and carried unanimously. The following officers were elected: —President, Yen. Archdeacon Towgood ; Yice-Presidents, Rev. Father J Molloy and Mr E. Lloyd; Captain, ■ Mr Allison ; Yice-Captain, Mr Lawrence ; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr } Foster.
A ballot was taken for the election of a committee and the following were returned :—Messrs Scrymgeour, Train, Signal! and Marchant. Th« subscription was fixed at 2s 6d.
