Hain came against Waxman as the centre of attraction. Both skippers are remarkably alike in their methods. Hain’s men played with remarkable consistency and outclassed their opponents. Goldstein’s game ended in an exciting finish, as the teams tied with the last end to go. When the Victorians were lying two Coltman placed a fine shot behind the “kitty” and won the game. Harrison’s game was remarkablejior slow scoring, but even, for in 17 ends only singles were scored. Mr Hain expresses himself as very pleased with the greens which suited the New Zealanders, hut the game started too late. Mr Hain also expressed the satisfaction of the whole team with the arrangements by Mr Hannah, secretary of the Association.
