FEILDING CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
A meeting of the Committee/ was held last night, Mr A. H. Atkinson being in the chair. The Secretary reported that in addition to those previously named Messrs E. H. Crabhe had been appointed to represent the Kimbolton Farmers’ Union on the deputation to the Minister of Railways re through train time-table; Mr W T. Bowater, the Fe'ilding Farmers’ Union; Mr Hare, the 'Waituna Farmers’ Union ;Mr Bramwell, the Borough Council; Mr Booth, the A. & P. Association ; Mr Carman, the Kiwitea County Council; Mr Pearce, the Oroua County Council. It was resolved —■ That the deputation make an effort to interview the Minister of Railways on the 14th inst., and that Mr Lethbridge, M.P., be requested to introduce the deputation. <lt was also decided to ask Mr Stevens, M.P. forManawatu, to support the object of the deputation. Messrs Atkinson, Bramwell, and Oobbe were requested to obtain and tabulate information in regard to population, etc., to place before the Minister. Messrs Tingey, Sutton and ”R. W. Heal were elected members and the resignation of Mr W. A. Saudilands was received. The resignation of the secretary, Mr Fitzherbert, was received with regret, he not being able to give the necessary time to duties. The appointmeu tof a successor was held over to enable Mr A. G. Oarty to determine after a week’s consideration whether he can undertake the duties.
Ib was resolved to accord its approval of the suggestion of the A. & P. Association to hold a.u industrial exhibition'at Feilding and offer the aid of the Chamber in carrying out the proposal. It was decided to draw the attention of the Oroua County Council to a promise previously made to "widen the bridge on the Makino road opposite Mr Lethbridge’s gate.
