The system of sabotage, consisting of dilatory expedients, botching work and . wilfully damaging material, led the employers in Paris, besides rejecting the masons’ demand for nine hours per day, instead of ten, also higher wages, to declare a general lock-out, affecting 50,444. Should the carpenters, plasterers, and other trades - join the dispute, 200,000 men will be rendered idle.
