UNEMPLOYED DO NOT WANT WORK.

Employers on the Rand have offered, as an experiment, to take 400 unemployed whites for unskilled labour above or below the surface if they will come for four shillings a day, and others at three until they are efficient enough to undertake piecework.
The majority of the men declined to accept the offer.
