American buyers are operating in best crossbreds. Titi 7%d, Okama 6%d, Te Apiti 6%d. Tallow sales: 1070 casks offered, 918 sold. Mutton; Fine 335, medium 395, beef fine 30s 6d, medium 28s. Wool continues brisk, with a hardening tendency for crossbreds. Wheat: The American visible •supply of is 51,134,000 bushels. grain report. Mr P. Pownall, of the N.Z, and Canterbury Farmers’ Co-op. Association, Wellington, reports as follows, all quotations being f. o. b. port of shipment, sacks free unless specified: —Oats; Grain stores show signs of accumulation, with vendors above buyers’ limits. Melbourne and Sydney are drawing small quantities suitable for milling, with further inquiries for feed. An opening in that quarter will strengthen present costs, B grade Danish and Gartons ruling at 2s Sparrowbills 2s 6d, Duns 3s 7d. Wheat ; The Argentine, with phenomenal season, is flooding the Home market, with weakening effect, and checking advance in Commonwealth and Dominion. Flour has risen locally, and wheat will follow slightly. Milling is firm at 4s Bd. Fowl feed 4s 7d. Potatoes : offering are excellent, and South Island crops abundant. Whites are worth £5, red keepers £5 ss, Tasmanians same money, but delivery regulations are proving restrictive. Maize: Small inquiry at 4s 7d. Barley: Demand slackening. Malting ss, feed 3s 9d, Cape 3s 9d. Peas: Partridge active 4s 3d, whites 6s, split £ls 10s. Bran in good request at £5 ss. Pollard nominally £6 10s, with no stocks. Oatmeal: 25’s stationary at £l3, rolled oats £lB, Oatina 10s 6d, Chaff: South are unloading northwards at 93s 6d sacks included, with heavy supply available. Weather interference in cutting will see advance shortly. Straw chaff 555, sacks extra. STOCK REPORT. Messrs Abraham & Williams, Ltd., report:—At Palmerston on Thursday the entry of sheep was made up , principally with inferior ewes and cull lambs, very few good lines being offered. A few pens of fat and forward cows sold readily. Messrs Hewitt Bros, mixed aged Romney ewes realised 12s Id, aged ewes 4s to 6s Id, cull ewes Is 7d to 2s 6d, fat ewes 11s to 13s 6d, forward ewes 8s lOd to 10s Bd, lambs 5s lOd to 7s 4d, cull lambs 2s to 2s 6d, fat bullocks £7 12s 6d, three and four-year bullocks £4 18s to £5 4s, fat cows ?£3 15s to £5, forward cows £3 to £3 16s, store cows £1 to £1 os, weaners 8s to 11s 6d, 15-months Jersey heifers £1 7s 6d.
