POST AND TELEGRAPH CHANGES.

Capper, chief postmaster, Invercargill, to be transferred to Timaru, which office is also being raised in status; Mr' W. T. Ward, assistant postmaster, Dunedin, to be postmaster, Palmerston North; Mr S. Inder, postmaster, Palmerston North, to be postmaster, Masterton (the grade of the Masterton office has been raised); Mr T. Hester, postmaster-, Masterton, to be postmaster, Lichfield street, Christchurch ; Mr T. Wilson, postmaster, Lichfield street, to be postmaster, Sumner; Miss Stewart, post mistress, Sumner, to he relieving postmistress, Wellington district; Mr O. H. Burton, accountant chief post to he assistant postmaster, Dunedin; Mr F. S. Stokes, chief clerk, Invercargill, to be accountant chief post office, Dunedin; Mr O. J. Dale* second Money Order and Savings Bank clerk, Wellington, to be chief clerk, Invercargill; Mr Dale’s successor will he announced later. The Invercargill post office is raised to the first rank. The status of the Palmerston North post office has been raised under the new arrangement. Palmerston will bo a Savings Bank centre, enabling withdrawals to he made direct from that office.
