THE LACK OF LABOUR.

OUTCRY IN AUCKLAND. Press Association, Auckland, March 31. The scarcity cf skilled labour is seriously impeding the output of Auckland manufacturing industries. The manager of one clothing factory stated that he could do with a hundred hands. Others made similar statements and it was further stated that labour conditions were so serious that orders were being sent abroad. Several employers advocated the importation of skilled labor, one suggestion being that Government should circularise all employers asking for particulars of the labour they required with a guarantee to employ a certain number of skilled hands and that these should be engaged by a committee sent to London and allocated to the various industries on the list.
