The magisterial inquiry into the collision between the Union Co.’s Wairuna and the scow Noonab, in which the latter was sunk and one man drowiwd, was opened to-day at Auckland before Mr Kette, S.M., Captain J. Adamson and Mr G. McKenzie, assessors. It was stated that Captain De Silva, master of the scow r , and the sailor Stirling were still in the hospital. The case was adjourned to April Bth, when ,it was arranged that the Wairuna’s officers should be present and give evidence. THE “L.E.G. ” IN AMERICA.
