GIRL “UNDERGRADS.”

The inhabitants of Wellesley, Massachusetts, 'were yesterday scandalised by The antics of a number, of the students of Wellesley College, which is perhaps the largest girls’ college in this country. There are over 1500 students, and most of them belong to what are known as Greek letter fraternities, and the scandal was causd by » number of girls qualifying for membership of these fraternities. Qualification for initiation of the e clubs involves startling "feats. One girl climbed a telegraph pole in the main street, another trundled a wheelbarrow, while a third walked up to [a policeman, and calmly proposed marriage to him. The scandalised citizens notified the college authorities, who at once put a stop to it, and informed M e girls that they must confine their operations to the coll3ge grounds.
