Manual Engine ( Dry) for three men. Ist prizes, three gold medals (two presented by Mr Max Bornhold and one by the Marton Eire Brigade.) Conditions. —Men to run from the front 20 yards to engine, lock fore-car-riage, turn over and unlock levers, connect two lengths of suction hose to engine, connect to engine, and run out at right angles, two 50-lengths of canvas hose from each side, and fix branches and return to starting point. Deliveryhose to be made up in coils, strapped, and placed in body of engine; branches strapped in horns in front of engine. Suction hose to be in side pockets, one on each side of engine; lids closed, all caps on. Time to last man returning to starting point. Man must be not less than 12 inches above ground when taking hose out of body of engine. Open only t® members of the Marton Fire Brigade. Entrance night, March 7th. Novelty Eaces for special prizes. Sheep Guessing Competition, etc. EULES & EEGULATIONS. All running events to be conducted under the NvZ. Athletic Union rules. Cycling events under League of New Zealand Wheelman rules, and Amateur events under the A. A. Association rules. Six starters or no third prize. Nominations for all Handicap events close with the Secretary on SATUEDAY, March 7th, 1908. . Nominations must be accompanied witn a statement of the last two performances, also dates and localities of same. Each competitor must state hxs handicap and position at finish of race, otherwise he will be liable to disqualification. Any competitor found guilty of sending in false performances, running under an assumed name, or practising fraud shall he for life. The Committee reserve the right to require any competitor, either before or after the event, to make a declaration as to his identity and the correctness of the description of his performances. The Committee may disqualify any competitor, either before or after any event, who shall refuse to make the required declaration, and he shall not be entitled to claim any prize. Nominations for all Horse events close on SATUEDAY, March 7th. Brass Band in attendance. Eirst race starts at 12 noon. Eefreshments on the ground.
