NEW GUNIEA CUSTOMS.

AN EXPENSIVE COAT OF PAINT. Press Association —Copyright, Received March 13, 10.7 a.m. Melbourne, March 13. The report of the Administrator of Papua contains the record of a curious incident connected with the murder of a European—Weaver—near Port Moresby. The murderers were on good terms with Weaver. One of them built a house and wished to paint it in a certain manner, but native custom forbade this unless he had previously killed a man. He, therefore, killed the weaver and afterwards tried to charm him back to life. The mudrerer was hanged and his accomplices imprisoned.
