FEILDING TECHNICAL SCHOOL.

A meeting was hold last night of the committee. Present —Messrs E. Goodbehere (Chairman), Montgomery. Carty, Trewiu, _ Heald, Mayo,’ Braniwoll, and Pirani. A subcommittee rccomiuencd the appointment of Miss Gilbertson and Dorian, as instructors in dressmaking, Mr Billings for drawing, Miss Mountfoct for painting, and Miss Mills for typewriting, during the first term. —Adopted. It was reported that it would be necessary to raise locally £250 towards the cost of the building and furniture.

The Chairman stated that a great number of curios were coming in for exhibition.

A visitor’s book was presented by Mr Carty for the school. The Chairman welcomed Mr Possey, the newly appointed Director of the school. It was decided that the Director make arrangements for painting classes at Kimboltou and Apiti, and that Miss Drew bo appointed instructor.

A vote of thanks was passed to Mr E. Short, for his promise of the use of a motor car for the use of the Minister, and sympathy in his illness.

[Mr Short is at present laid up in a private hospital in "Wellington owing to a strain, believed to have been caused to him by taking partin a tag of war contest on board ship on tire voyage from England.] A very pretty silver key given by Mr Goodbehere, for presentation to the Minister for opening the school was produced at the meotng. It was decided to charge Is entrance to the concert in the evening; children half price. Mi Heald was asked to arrange for the attendance of the Feildiug Bandit w T as decided that the Chairman of the Education Board, the Chairman of the Technical School Oommitttoe, and Mr Lethbridge, M.P., accompany the Minister on his visit to the schools.
