STOCK REPORT
Messrs Dalgety & Co., Ltd., report having a very good yarding of sheep and a medium entry of cattle at their Palmerston sale on the sth iust. Owing to welcome rains sheep wore in good demand at following prices;—4-tooth ewes 15s 7d, 6-tooth aud s.m. ewes 11s, aged ewes 6s 3d, 3-tooth Romney ewes 17s, 4 and 6-tooth ewes 16s 6d, f.m. do. 13s 6d, 2-tooth wethers, small and low conditioned, 10s, aged Romney rams 30s to 2gs, forward heifers £2 11s 6d to £3, 3 to 3)<(-year bullocks £5 7s 6d.
WOOL, SKIN AND HIDE SALE
Messrs A. H. Atkinson & Co., Ltd., report onJtheirFeilding sale To an average attendance of buyers, we offered a medium selection of wool, skins and hides. In the face of a reported fall in the value of hides in Australia we had a remarkably good sale ox hides of medium weight made up to skins barely maintained former prices. The extra wool grown was about equalised by decline iu values. Quotations: —Wool: Fleece medium crossbred 4%d to 53<>d, lambs to G%d, dead 4d to 4%d, locks and pieces 3>£d. Skins: Crossbred fine medium coarse to sd, broken 3%d to, sandy 3%d, shorts 4d, lambs 3d to sd, broken 334 d, pelts 33^d, inferior and broken Id to B34d to 3%d, broken to~3J4d, half dry skins at each, pelts and shorts Is. Is (id, to 2s, lambs pefrts Is to Is 4d, woolly lambs Ist’lOd to 2s 4d. Hides: Ox light 4%d, medium 5%d, cow 3J£d to 4%d, cut 834 d to 3%d. slippy Id to 2d, rough 2%d, yearlings 3d, slip l%d, cut Id, calf 3%d to 434 d, cut and slip to 334 d. Tallow; Casks 30s 9d, to 21s 9d, tins 15s 9d to 18s 3d per owt. Horsehair: Is per lb.
