PASTORAL RUNS.
LEASES OF WEST COAST LANDS.
A number of pastoral run leases were disposed of.at the Crown Lands office, Wellington, on Friday. They were granted at the upset prices, there being no competition. The runs, eleven in number, are situated on the coast between Patea and the Manawatu river, and comprise sandhills upon which marram grass lias been successfully establshed and flats with sparse vegetation. The Department of Crown Lands offers bonuses to the licensees who||plaut their runs with marram grass, lupin, or suitable trees or shrubs. The leases are for twenty-one years, and were allocated as follow: — Wairoa Survey District (on both bants of the Waitotara river) — Run Nos. 5,6, and 7, block 12, 767 acres,; upset rental, £89 —I. M. Byrnes, Waverley. “ RmrNos. 8 and block 14, 2105 .acres.; *" upset f rental, £35 —Mrs A. Symes, Waverley. Run Nos. 10, 11, and part of 12, block 14 , 2700 acres; upset rental, £45—H. W. Reid, Maxwelltown. Ikataria Survey District (north of Wangaehu river) —• Run ]Jos. 14 and 1., block 09, 1140 acres; upset rental, £24 —L. Wright, Wanganui. Run No. 16, blocks 9, 10, and 13, 2350 acres.; upset rental,|£49 —D. L. Blyfch, Wanganui. Koitiata Survey District (north and south of Rangitikei river) — * Run No. 17, 1640 acres; upset rental, £27 10s—D. Simpson, Marton. Run Nos. 18 and 19, 8550 acres; upset rental, £59 —Passed in. Run Nos. 20 and 21, blocks 5 and >6, 623 acres; upset rental, £ll1 — Keiller Bros., Bulls. Run No. 22, block 6, 1818 acres; upset rental, £31 —Trustees of Dalrymple estate. Bulls. ‘ Run No. 23, block 1, Sandy Survey Distirct, 480 acres; upset rental, £8 —A. W. Amon, Scott’s Ferry. Run No. 24, blocks 2 and 3, Sandy Survey District, 6360 acres; upset rental, £132 10s—James McKelvie, Feiiding. Mana Island, of an area of 525 acres, comprising easy sloping pastoral lands in native grasses, leased to M. Vella (Paremata) at a rental of“£16o per annum. The lease is for fourteen years, and the run has improvements valued at £393 15s.
