GROUNDLESS ANXIETY. Dyspepsia takes on many and various forms. One of the most characteristic symptoms of this ailment is pain at the cardiac end of the stomach, to which the name of cardialgia has been applied, on account of the distress being in such close proximity to the heart. Many dyspeptics, being also more or less hypochondriacs, imagine from this symptom that they are subjects from organic disease of the heart, and suffer intense, yet groundless mental anxiety on that account. Thousands of cases of “heartdisease” so-called, are imaginary, and arise from one of the many varieties of indigestion.
