BATTERSEA PROPOSALS QUASHED. Press Association —Copyright. Received March 2, 9.1 a.m, London March 1. Mr Wallace, Magistrate at Clerkenwell, quashed the Battersea Borough Council’s threepenny rate for relief works for unemployed as infringing the Act of 1905, limiting such rate to a halfpenny.
