FOOTBALL.

THE N.Z. PROFESSIONALS AT HOME. PRESS COMMENTS. Press Association. —Copyright. Received February 24, 7.25 p.m. Sydney, February 24. The Daily Telegraph says: —“The New Zealand professional footballers, in their fifth representative match at Oldham, against Lancashire, were opposed to a strong team, and at all points the home team proved superior. Indeed, the Colonials gave a disappointing display, sustaining the heaviest reverse of their tour—one goal and six tries to,two goals. They not only lacked the pace of the home players, but the forwards failed to hold their own, and the game, from beginning to end, left no doubt as to the superiority of Lancashire. The points gained by the Colonials were from twofpenalty goals, which Messenger scored.” The Daily News describes the All Blacks’ display as disappointing.
