FEILDING MARKET REPORT. Messrs A. H. Atkinson & Co., Ltd,, report:—On Friday we held ■our usual sale and offered a large entry of pig’s, poultry, produce, etc. Big pigs were well-competed for, small were dull of sale. A large consignment of tomatoes, plums, apples, etc., came to hand for which the demand was keen. Quotations : Pigs: Weaners 3s 8d to 4s 3d, os bd, 5s 6d, 6s; stores 13s 6d. 15s, 18s, 20s, 235; porkers 41s. Poultry: Roosters young Is sd, ls-6d, Is 7d; hens Is 2d, Is 3d, Is 6d, Is 8d; ducks Is 6d, Is 7d, 2s; All at each. Produce: Potatoes in sacks Id per lb; small quantities per lb; tomatoes 3s 6d case; plums 3s, 3s 6d, 4s, os per case. STOCK REPORT. Messrs Dalgetv & Co., Ltd., report on their Feilding sale on the 14th inst., as below :—We had an exceptionally good yarding of sheep and a small entry of cattle, all of which were quitted with the exception of one line of ewes, at the following prices;—Small woolly lambs 4s 6d to 4s 7d, medium woolly lambs •5s cull ewes ,3s 8d to ss, mixed _aged- ewes. 5s 9d, 4 and 5-year-old ■ewes 9s 3d, 2-tooth ewes 13s On account of Mr L. H. McHardy, “Beaulieu,” Palmerston North, the whole of his purebred Romney flock, and for these bidding was brisk, buyers •being in attendance from Wanganui, Kaikora North, Gisborne and Hawke’s Bay, and a number of these sheep were also purchased by local breeders: —Two-tooth ewes realised 2%, 2%, 3 up to guineas. 4-tooth ewes 3% guineas, 45-tooth ewes to 1% guineas, 4-year-old ewes if guinea, 5-year-old ■ewes guineas, ewe iambs 1 to (guineas. The chief purchasers were Messrs W. G. Stead, “Kereru” iHawke’s Bay, James L. Perry, Gis■borne; iH. Lambert, Wanganui; A. Y. Collins, Kaikora North; J. Knight, Feilding ;=J. Han Sen, Mt. :Stewart, Awahuri; O. H. Rhodes, Rata, and O. Dermer, Feilding. We .also sold .on account of Mr J. W. Brady, Bnnnythorpe, 20 2-tooth Lin■coln ewes at guineas, the purchaser being Mr R. Ewing, Bulls. ■Our principal sales of cattle were:— 15-months steers medium sorts 365, :3-year steers £2 9s, fat heifers £3 18s. .
SHEEPSKIN AND HIDE SALE. The New Zealand Loan & Mercantile Agency Co , Ltd., report as follows :—A better feeling was experienced at to-day’s sale. The Home markets are more settled than they were when the last local sale was held and we can report skins par to per lb advance on last sale’s prices. Hides were in good demand at late rates. We quote : Sheepskins: Fine crossbred and half bred 6d to 7d, coarse and medium to 6%d, dead B%d to 4%d, broken and inferior, pelts Id to 3d, pelts dry to 4d, lambs 4%d to sd, green and salted pelts Is to 2s each, green and salted lambs Is 9d to 2s 6d each. Hides: Ox, light 4d to d, cow 3%a to damaged hides to 3d, calf sound 3%d to 4%d, calf damaged to Tallow; In casks to 25s per cwfc, odd packages 22s to 28s 3d cwt.
