• Per Press Association. , Wanganui, February 15. The weather continues to be most favourable for training operations in connection with the scnllingllchampionship. Both Webb and Tressider continue to do good work, rowing twice daily, the Australian covering Between 16 and 16 milesjevery day in his boat, besides many miles walking exercise. Webb does somewhat lighter work, between 10 and 12 miles rowing, in addition to which ho goes in for bill climbing, boxing and breathing exercises. He is gaining weight and expects to row at 11 stone and Tressider is gradually reducing and is now well under 12st. 71b. He will probably be 12stt 41bs. on the day of the race, which has always proved his best rowing weight. A number of Australians have arrived to witness the contest, including Eogwell, who expresses the opinion that the course is a very excellent one and fit to row any championship on. Arnst is expected to day. He and Fogwell are both willing to compete in a handicap race if it is arranged. BothJWebb and Tressider are in of condition, and their rowing pleasesjtheir respective supporters. Webb’s final deposit of £2OO was put up to-day and the stake money of £IOOO is now held by the editor of the Herald as stake holder.
