The arrest of several Sunni Mohammedans for rioting in Bombay against the Shiah section led to the stoning of the police, two of the latter being badly injured. The Police Commissioner and other European officers then fired on the rioters, killing five and wounding forty, twenty seriously. Troops are camping in the streets, but everything is now^qniet.
