. EGMONT MEETING. SECOND DAT. Press Association. Hawera, February 18. For the second day of the Egmont Meeting there was splendid weather, and a large attendance. The tracks were fast, there were large fields and good racing. The sum of £6920 was invested on the tote as against £6354 for the corresponding day of last year. In addition there were six bookmakers. Results ;

Farmers’ Plate: Mikotahi 1, Anemone 2, Stayboy 3, Also started: Integrity, Bismarck, Te Emti, Pierpoint, \ and Starfish. Eltham Hurdles; Lady Hnne 1, Oryx J2, Moeraki 3. Also started: Hautapn, Cassiopea, and Sen Sim. Time, 3min 17sec. Okaiawa Hack Hurdles; Claremont 1, Bagatelle 2, Xavier 3. Showmaji fell at the last fence. Time, 2min 55sec. Atkinson Memorial Stakes : Waitapu 1, Tangimoana 2. Nova 3. Also started: Malmtu and Immolation. Time, 2min 10 l-ssec. Immolation led for seven furlongs when Nova challenged and got in front, but entering the straight Waitapu dashed out and won by a head. Hack Scurry : Burton 1, luaha 2, Moifa 3. Also started : Wee Nannie, Spinning Star, Miro, Pleiades, Eastmere, Watershed and Muskerado. Eastmere finished second bat was weighed in two pounds short and was disqualified. Time, Imin Bseo.
