CHARGE OF BLASPHEMY.
Press Association.—Copyright. Received February 11, 8.5 a.m. London, February 10. Harry Boulter, a tailor’s cutter, was charged at the Old Bailey with blasphemy, and found guilty. Prisoner made a practice of addressing public meetings in conjunction with others at Highbury corner, Islington, giving utterance to matters of a most blasphemous character. Justice Phillimore commented on the seriousness of the crime. He gave prisoner an opportunity of signing a written affirmation that he regretted the utterances and promised not to Repeat them, and bound him over to ifome up for judgment when called on, the Judge adding that such cases will not be treated leniently in future.
