STOCK REPORT. | Messrs Freeman R. Jackson & Co., report:—Ac our Wanganui stock sale on Wednesday, sth inkt., we had a good attendance, and all the stock advertised came forward with the exception of a line of 1000 lambs, which we sold privately. However, we yarded 400 mixed sheep, ,750 cattle, and 80 pigs. Although th'e continuation of the dry weather has a bad effect on the markets, we managed to dispose of all the sheep with the exception of two small pens at full market values. Bidding at auction for cattle was dull, but we sold a fair proportion of the entry privately after the sale at satisfactory prices to the vendors. An average yarding of pigs met a ready sale. Sheep: 4,6, and f.m. ewes 9s 6d, 3 and 4-tooth ewes 14s to 14s 4d, f.m. ewes 4s 3d to 5s Bd, small 3-tooth ewes 11s, 3 and 4-tooth wethers IBs, good stock wethers 12s to 13s 6d, cull wethers 5s sd, good fat ewes IBs 6d to IBs lid, medium • fat ewes 13s to IBs 2d, shorn Lincoln lambs (good) 8s 9d, good Lincoln lambs 7s 9d to 7s lOd, Shropshire lambs good 7s 6d, medium lambs 4s 2d to 4s Bd, cull medium lambs 4s 3s, fat cows £3 12s to £4 12s, forward cows £3 10s to £2 12s 6d, store cows Bos to £3, 18-months steers £2 15s to £3 18s, 2 to 2 % year steers £3 5s to £3 12s (sd, well-bred cows and calves £3 11s, good cows and calves £3, well-bred yearling heifers, £3 to £3 ss, yearling heifers 30s to 335, yearling steers 37s to £2 2s 6d, good springing cows £5 2s to - £6 2s 6d, other £3 15s to £3 ss, bulls £3 10s to £4 10*, mixed young cattle 27s 6d. Pigs—Baconers £3 to £2 10s, large porkers 29s to 335, good porkers 23s 6d to 37s 6d, stores 19s to 21s, weaners 7s 3d to 11s.
WOOL AND SKIN SALE
The New Zealand Loan & Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows :—Yesterday we had our usual monthly sale of wool, skin and; hides. We offered a good representative catalogue in all classes. Most lines were quitted at full current rates with the exception of a. few entries of fleece wool. Hidea show an advance on prices realised last sale. We quote:—Wool: Crossbred 4%d to lambs 5%d to locks 2%d, dead wool 4}kd to sd. Skins: Fine woolled 6^d, medium and coarse 4%d to' pelts 4 3%d to 4d, lambs 4%d to sd. Hides: Heavy ox 5%d, medium 4Jgd tor 5%d, cow 4d to 4%d, light cow 3%d, calf skins 4%d,.
