Abdul Aziz, interviewed at Mad in, states that when the Kaiser offered to protect Morocco against Ireucb severity he accepted the offer, but, finding the Kaiser would do nothing, though the French advance was continued, he lost confidence, and agaiu went over to France, which ought to provide means to enable the regaining of Fez.
