CATHOLIC CLERGY TRANSFERS

Per Press Association. Wellington, February 8. The transfer of a. considerable number of Catholic clergy has been decided upon. The Yen. Archdeacon Devoy, for many .years YicarGeneral and associated with St. Mary of the Angels pariah, will, with Father tierring, of Buckle street, take charge of the Newtown parish. Father Ainsworth, who lias been parish priest of Newtown for some five or six years, has been transferred to Hokitika. Father Moloney, who only recently"replaced Father Holley (now of Blenheim) as acting administrator of the Thomdou parish, has been appointed administrator of Thorndon parish. Other transfers have been made as follows: —Father Yiuniug (Buckle street) to Boulcott street, Father S. Mahoney(Leeston) to Buckle street, Father Finuerty (Timaru) to Buckle street, Father Hills (St. Patrick’s College) to Leestou, Jas. Goggau (Temuka) to Napier, Father A. McDonald (Boulcott street) to Tiraavu, Father Cahill (Carterton) to Danuevirke, Father Rowe (Palmerston North) to Carterton, Father D. O’Shea (Danuevirke) to Hawera. Father Kimbell. of St. Mary of the Angels, will take up special work in the diocese.
