Three names were recommended for the post of City Electrical Engineer in the order named —Mackay, of the Great Western Railway, England; Wyilie, of Auckland; and Roberts, of Durban. Newcastle, February 8. Arrived: Soafla from Duendin. Sailed : Rakauoa, for the|Bluff. Perth, February 8. The Windsor ran on a reef at 10 on Sunday night. Her propeller evidently struck the reef or the tail shaft broke. A hole was pierced in her bottom under the engine room and the water flooded it. The crew were assembled. The Chinese £were much terrified. Owing .to the list of the ship it was difficult to get a boat away. While awaiting daylight heavy seas broke over tire vessel. There is no further news as to whether those who remained on the ship landed.
