FEILDING RAM FAIR.
The second annual ram fair held under the auspices of the Feilding A. and P, Association took place in the Association’s saleyards yesterday, Messrs Gorton & Son, Dalgety & po.. Loan & Mercantile, and Abraham & Williams were the auctioneers interested. The fair opened with D. Rowland’s (Jackeytown) Romneys, and was inclined to be a bit slow at first, but as the day wore on things brightened up considerably, and really “exceelient prices were obtained throughout. Competent judges say that the rams offered were in the main a superior lot, and the prices realised were satisfactory. The fair lasted until late last evening, and was a thorough success throughout. Owing to the impossibility of one auctioneer acting at a time getting through the sale, it was found necessary, while Mr N. Gorton disposed of a portion of the Romneys, also the English Lei testers, Southdowns and Shropshires, that Mr Ward should dispose of the Lincolns. The highest price paid for Romneys was £lO 10s, while Mr W. Gibson paid 32 guineas for one of Mr W. F. Raynor’s Lincolns and 19 guineas for another. It seemed, in fact, that Lincolns were rather more in favour than during the past year. Following are the results:— ROMNEYS. On account of :
