WELLINGTON HARBOUR BOARD
THE PATENT SLIP. Per Press Association, i Wellington, Last Night. 1 , At the Harbour Board meeting to-day there was considerable discussion regarding negotiations that have been conducted in regard to the patent slip and its possible acquisition by the Harbour Board. The matter was brought to a head by the chairman, Son. T. K. MacDonald, M.L.O. , moving “That the secretary be now instructed to putin forcis the resolution passed by the Board on December sth, 1907, requiring the solicitor to proceed legally for the compulsory acquirement of the patent slip property. ” It was urged by members that the board would probably do better by private negotiation. Mr MacDonald therefore withdrew his motion and, private negotiations will continue..
