Bombay, Last Night. Both sections of the Indian Congress at Surat will hold rival Congresses in 1908. The Moderates have appealed to Lord Elgin to intervene on behalf of the Indiana in the Transvaal. The barrister Gandhi has been drdered to quit within 48 hours. Eight others have also been ordered to leave by January 7th. All have decided to await arrest and take legal opinion as to their position, with a view to appealing.
