HUNTLEY OLD™ BOYS' Y. MARTON CLUB. The annual match between the Huntley Old Boys and the Marton Cricket Club was played on Boxing Day in the Marton Park; and resulted in a substantial win for the Old Boys. Unfortunately Arkwright was partially incapacitated from bowling in the second innings. The holding of some of the Club players was poor—very poor. Few seem to have learned that the ball should be picked up and returned smartly, either direct 'into the bowler's hands or wicket-keeper’s hands, or, if possible so that at the first hop it should rise to about the top of the wicket. The bowler’s hands should be thought of and be saved bruising as much as possible, while ho should at every opportunity bo saved trouble in fielding. Further, ‘‘the aim of good fielding is not to run men out, but to prevent their trying to run. ” Both sides were much bothered by the long grass which, it is said the Borough Council is keeping for hay! But that body has no more right to reserve the Park for agricultural purposes than it has to cut the library books into pipelights. Following are the scores:— OLD BOYS. —First Innings. C. P.
