DENNISTON COLLIERY.

THE OWNERS’ CASE. Press Association. Westport, December 28. The management of Westport Coal Company mention that it does not seem to be generally understood that the Company offered the Denniston, miners before the case came to Court to give them the bank-to-bank clause subject only to an arrangement of travelling time to and from their respective working places which was absolutely necessary to ensure the' regular working of the machinery. This offer the men refused and the case went before the Court and judg- ’ ment was given in favor of the com-1 pany. Notwithstanding this the Company repeatedly offered to forego clause 16 of the award to give the bauk-to-bank clause on similar terms to those agreed on by Granity. miners, but die offer was again refused by the men.
