Thos. Snrvt'uo was sentenced to four months' imprisonment at Wieklow Assizes, Ireland, on a charge of "Whitoboyism." After threatening a woman's life unless she surrendered two farms, lie fired two shots over -her head. Mr Augustine Birroll declared that cattle driving was illegal and indefensible. Agitations would not be allowed to affect the price of laud. Legislation might soon bo forthcoming to break up Roscommon and Galway grass lands. Government had refrained from enforcing the Crimes Act for reasons which would be stated at the proper time.
