THE ALL-RED ROUTE.
Press Association—Copyright. Received Dec. 14, 5.4 p.m.
London, Dec. 14. The Daily Chronicle says that Australia is'in no mood to do tilings bv halves. Mr Deakin's defence scheme, liko tho now tariff and new protection scheme, is large and comprehensive. Referring to the All-Red route, tho Chronicle states that it is desirable, that Aiistra.Ua- should reveal her attitude on tho question. Mr Deakin expressed the utmost sympathy at tho Colonial Conference but when that sympathy was translated, how much did it mean? If all the colonies contributed, and a workable financial scheme was submitted, the Imperial Government would gladly do'its part towards realising a piece of practical Imperialism.
