At the Supreme Court Norah Flanagan was found not guilty and Nelson Campbell Hodges found guilty of fraud ou tho Bank of Now Zealand at Westport by means of base gold sold to tho hank. Sentence on the latter was deferred till tills morning; Civil business is now proceeding. Wellington, December 18. Justice Button and a jury of twelve were engaged to-day in hearing a claim by George Scott of Christchurch against the King for £■lsoo for damages in respect of alleged breach of agreement. The case arises out of a space dispute at the recent exhibition, plaintiff alleging that hb was deprived of space originally granted him, also that another agreement that ho was to have the exclusive rights and privileges of selling confectionery and fruit at the exhibition was violated. Defence is that there was no contract and that Scott broke tho rules and regulations of the exhibition; Tho ease is proceeding.
