He reports that tiio department, - from a comiuercial standpoint, indicates sound and careful management, • and that efficient and -accurate''records of transactions have been kept. [Many charges had beon made that the late Council liad not conducted tho Works Department on propor business lines, and the recently elected Council appointed an outside accountant to make a report, which is apparently favourable.]
