MARTON EXTENSION.

Messrs Harconrt and Company report that the auction sale of the above estate on December 11th is attracting more than ordinary attention, in fact, they have rarely seen so much interest manifested in the sale of country township sections before. This is not to bo wondered at when one considers the future importance appertaining to Martou, as set out in the advertisement in this issue. The refusal of the owners for many years to sell this laud lias retarded the progress of Martou, and now, with the early completion of the Main Trunk Railway, the opening up of immense areas of some of the finest laud in the Dominion, to which Martou is the natural outlet, and the opportunity at last given for Martou to extend in its natural direction, towards the railway station, the success and prosperity of the town seem assured. Messrs ‘Harconrt & Company point out that the position of Martou Extension sections is unique, lying as they do, immediately surrounding the railway station, which._ from its situation as the junction of the arterial lines of the North Island, it is considered must become one of the great inland centres of the Dominion. The sections mostly front the existing main thoroughfares to the station, are pleasnatly situated on a slight eminence, thereby commanding excellent views, and have been divided into suitable areas according to their situation. The roads arc now in course of construction under the supervision of the Borough Engineer, and will bo a credit to the district. The laud is of excellent quality, and has for years past produced some of the finest grain grown in the district. The plans, which are now ready, give an excellent idea of the situation of the sections, the town, and the station, whilst the terms are stated to be more than liberal. Messrs Harconrt & Co. will be pleased to give all information and advice to intending purchasers on application at their offices, 4(5, Lambtou Quay. “
