ENGLISH LADY MURDERED. ROBBED AND THROWN OVERBOARD. 1 Robbed, murdered, and then thrown overboard from one of the steamboats plying from Newport to Now York was the fate of Miss Frances Gardner, of Manchester, whose body was found in Newport Harbour, Rhode Isluad, recently. This is the conclnsoui of the local coroner. Miss Gardner was a wealthy spinster, who arrived in America a few weeks ago to visit her sister, Mrs J. Reynolds, of Brooklyn. She had a largo sum of money in her possession. Wiieu the body was found the supposiation was that it was a case of suicide, and the authorities were about to deposit it in the paupers’ burial ground when information of the identity of the deceiased was brought by Mr Reynolds, who, after missing his sister-in-law for two days, read in the newspapers the description and details |of the mystery. Mr Reynolds states that Miss Gardner loft his home on a trip to New England, intending to return on Monday, October 14th, to Brooklyn. Miss Gardner had no reason to commit suicied. All her jewels, togehetr with her purse, containing eight English sovereigns and a large sum in American notes, are missing. PANAMA CANAL. UNPRECEDENTED SPEED OF WORK. Now York, October 10. An official report received from the Governor of the Panama Canal zone states that during the mouth of September over a mil ion and a half cubic yards of material were excavated, which constitutes a record. The great steam shovels are doing splendidly, and tiio work is everywhere going on satisfactorily, ■ At the beginning of this year it was estimated that 53 million cubic yards remained to be excavate, so that at the present rate of progress the work should bo finished long before 1915, the date usually fixed for the opening of the canal. A single steam shovel will excavate 1000 cubic yards a day. The reason why Dr. Sheldon’s Digestive Tabules Cure Indigestion, Dyspepsia, and all Stomach Troubles is that they actually contain all the of natural digestauts as found in a healthy stomach. Unlike many socalled indigestion cures, _ these Tabules are neither laxative or cathartic, and do not act upon the bowels in any way, for in indigestion or dyspepsia the whole trouble is the stomach, r and not the bowels. No one ever suffered from indigestion or dyspepsia whoso stomach was in a healthy condition. When the stomach is out of order, do not go without food or irritate :your stomach with cathartics, but take some natural digestant which will digest wiiat you eat, thus assisting the stomach to regain its normal health and vigour. Dr. Sheldon’s Digestive Tabules is the only preparation which contains all the known digestauts, and which will digest all kinds of food. These Tabules arc not a medicine which is advertised to cure everything, but a scientific preparation, prepared according to the original prescription of E. M. Sheldon, M.D., a graduate of the University, City of Now York, and Bolleviow, U.S. A. Those Tabules are sold at 2s (id for a tin containing 80 Tabules. Buy a tin, oat a good, square meal, and then take at Tabulo, and note the result. You will forget all about it if you are not careful, for there will be no pain or disturbances, and your food will be digested just as it used to be wiieu your stomach was well and strong. Furthermore your stomach will soon bo restored again if you keep on taking them, just as if thousands and thousands of other stomachs have been, by the sole and exclusive use of Dr. Sheldon's Digestive Tabules.
