Messrs Dalgcty Co. report;—At our fortnightly Wanganui sale on the 14th iust. we yarded ISOO sheep and 150 cattle. There was fair competition under the hammer and we made a total clearance of the yarding at ruling rates. Messrs Dalgety & Co., Ltd., report on their Palmerston sale of the sth iust., as follows; —Wo had an exceptionally good yarding of cattle and a good entry of sheep. There was a keen demand for yearling to 18-mouths steers and also for empty • heifers and empty cows. The following are the prices realised;—lß to 20months steers £3 7s, yearling steers medium sorts £2 !)s Cd, yearling steers culls 245, cows with calves 435, small heifers with calves 40s, empty ■ cows £2 5s Gd, forward heifers £3 11s, small springing heifers 51s, 18months to 2-year empty heifers £3 15s. 15-mouths ’empty heifers 31s. . bulls 34s to 435, 3-year bullocks £5 7s Gd. In sheep our entry consisted of wethers, ewes and lambs. Mixed • aged owes with lambs at foot realised 25s to 25s 3d. Per Press Association. Christchurch, December 4. At the Addington live stock market to-day there were fairly large entries of stock, and au enormous attendance, many fanners being present to see how fat lambs were selling. Fat cattle were without change. Fat lambs were firm at previous week’s rates, and fat sheep, ' ‘ though irregular, were without change. There was a fair demand . for store sheep, especially forward wethers. Pigs of all classes were easier, and there was a fair denmad for dairy and store cattle. The entry of store sheep was larger than for several weeks past, and there was a little better demand, forward wethers being wanted chiefly. 1 - Prices wore, however, about the . same as the previous week. The . entry of fat lambs was rather larger than last week, and the quality was better, there being a smaller proportion of unfinished lots. There was a fair demand for export, and '■ prices remained without change, “ though the sale was rather brisker. Togs made 17s to 48s 9d. and unV ’finished lots Us to I3s Cd.. At the Burnside stock market today 7GG sheep were penned, the majority ■of which consisted ot prime quality. • On account of the short supply prices showed an advance of fully 8s to 4s per head on last week’s rates. Best woolly wethers 37s to 81s fid, best shorn wethers 23s to 24s 9d, medium 19s to 2is inferior l'7s Gd to 1 8s (id, best ewes ISs to 20s Gd, medium Jus to 17s, inferior 18s to 14s Gd.
