THE TROUBLE IN NATAL.

Dinizulu is sending emissaries throughout Ztilulaud, Natal, Swaziland, Basutolaud and Pondolacd. As a result the 'Zulus are reported to be mobilising in small numbers, and two of the most powerful Natal tribes, totalling 9000 fighters, are restless and prepared to co-operata with the Zulus, should the latter rebel.
ijondon, Dec. 4. Reuter states that the Zulus' fighting strength is estimated at 30,000. They'possess many rifles and considerable ammunition, hut the ppm? her and quantity, also Dinizulu's intentions are unknown. It is understood that the authorities at Colenso are urging him to surrender, and that lie should stand his trial. The authorities are preparing for all emergencies; 15.000 troops are ready for Znluland. The militia is being recruited up to its full strength of 3500, and the inir pending mobilisation of all reserves will give a total defence force of 10,000. Dr. Jameson will place a force on the Griqu aland border 'in tho Transvaal, and the Imperial l/oyermiieafc is ready to assist in case of necessity. Received December S, 8.35 a.m. Durban, December 4. A son of tho celebrated chief, Johu Dunn, states that the rebels at Ukandhla are few, while there is no restlessness among those on the Black Umvolosi River. The chief Diniznlu is at Usuina. ' a'he Natal Mounted Force with four guiis, is a.t'- Jinginhlove, whence Colonel McKenzie will' advance todav. Martial law has been pro: claimed in Znluland.
