WRECK OF THE DUNDONALD.
Per Press Association. Inyercargill, Dec. 4. A magisterial enquiry into tho wreck of the Dundonald on Disappoiutnijut Island was held to-day be fore Mr McCarthv, S.M., Captain McDonald (Bluff Harbour Master), and Captain Silha ot the Wiiakatane. The evidence given by the second and third mates, and" by Finlon, who was the look-out man on the night of the wreck, disclosed no new facts. It was not known whether tho •vessel or cargo were insured. Findings will he gjvL-u in tho ordinary way. As tho result of tho r-spfescntn.-tions of the Mayor 10 Mr Waito, Curator of Canterbury Museum, tho boat made by the Dundonald survivors was allowe' to remain hero and be exhibited iu the afternoon for the benefit, of the survivors of the wrtck. Many people paid to see it. The amount of takings was £22 2s.
