AN ABORTIVE REVOLUTION.

The Daily-Mail's Rio Janiero correspondent says that an attempt to overthrow the Government of Minus Geraes, under the leadership of Magali, a native of Rio Grande Do Sul, aided by British, Canadian, and American fllibnsterers, failed after a premature skirmish in the State of Balna, wherein Philip Davies, a retired British Major, was killed, Lieut. George Gordon wounded, and all were captured. £IOO,OOO was raised in Loudon aud New York by the filibusterors, who lauded separately as traders. (Minas Geraes is an extensive Province of Brazil, south of Bahia, on the Atlantic seaboard. Rio Grande Do Sul is also one of the States united in tho Republic of Brazil which is modelled after the United States, with this difference, that each State has complete autonomy, amounting almost to decentralisation,
