WASTING PUBLIC MONEY.
SIR.—I fully concur in what the Post's correspondent says ro tlio special train Sunday. Why should the public money be thrown away in this extravagant manner, considering mombers are already well paid for their services. lam quite convinced Mr Massoy is not brainy enough to oyer become a leader of men, or it would' never have gone forth that Mr Massey and a party of northern members were leaving Wellington Sunday per special train. By so doing he offends two parties, jiiid largo ones, namely those who punk Government expendituro can ty> considerably curtailed with a view to less borrowing, and thoso ftho respect tlio sanctity of tho Sabbath, which should bo a day of rest {or railway servants as well as others,' when reasonably'possible.' lii addition lie makes lukewarm supporters h the Ward administration (of fjdioin I claim to be one) ask themselves, 'What is the use of voting against them, as Massey and Co. aro pqnally careless as to how public money is spent, that is, providing it \s spent on themselves.'' By inserting this yon will oblige.—l am, etc., '•' • ' ' ' OBSERVER.
