Press Association —Copyright. Sydney, November 18. The barque-..Bengairn, which left Newcastle for Anofagasa ou November 3ml, was towed to Sydney in a crippled condition. She had a thrilling experience on the coast. After making an offing she encountered a terrific gale. The cargo shifted, and tlie barque, with a great lurch, went on her beam ends. Great seas thundered all over her. The hatch coverings started, and water began to find its way below. The masts were cut away to save the vessel. Tlie vessel was 300 miles off the coast, at the time but managed to make the coast safely.
