WOOL AND SKIN SALES.

Messrs A. H. Atkinson and Co., Ltd. report:—On Friday wo had a good entry of pigs, poultry, produco and sundries. Bidding for pigs was slow to begin, as buyers wore anxious to feel the market alter missing the sale last week. .Figs are not yet up to last season s prioes, owing no doubt to the late season. Good stores were well competed for, but rough sorts were hard to quit. We managed to clear the yarding with tho exception of one pen, the reserve on which was above buyers' idea of value. Quotations: Pigs : Weauers 4s to 12s Gd, slips 13s Gd to 16s, small stores 17s to 225, good stores 25s 6d to 27s Gd porkers 32s to 355. Poultry: Hens Is 3d to 3s, roosters Is 6d to 3s, ducks 2s id, turkeys 6s 3d. Produce: Small entry. Potato* -Os to 12s Gd. Fair lines rhubarb 6d bundle.

Tallow—Mixed in shipping order 2bs 9d per cwt., tins and odd packages 20s to 23s 6d, rough fat 13s 9d to 14s,

Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd , report on : their sale held on Friday at Wellington as follows : We offered a good catalogue of wool, skins, hides, and tallow to a good attendance of buyers. Prices for skins were easier than last sale, ruling Md to MA per lb lower. We quote: Wool, X.B. in bags Bd, dead inferior s>/d. Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co. report:—We submitted a well assorted catalogue of 2800 skins and 3000 hides. The market for skm was weak in sympathy with recent Home advices, and may be quoted at }£d to %d lower than last week. Hides were easier in light and medium sorts, and especially so for any damaged or inferior. We quote:— Skins: Halfbred 9d to 9J£d, fine crofsbred to 9d, coarse to medium crossbred 7d to Bd, dead and inferior Gd to 7}£d, lambs, short 5d to 6d, lambs, woolly 7d to TJ&d, Hoggets 6d to 6%c1, green and damp 5s Gd to Bs. Hides : Medium heavy ox to light ox 4>£l to 47/fl, heavy cow 4%d to sJ£d, light and medium cow 4J£d to 4%d, damaged hides 3d to 4d, calf, sound 5%d to &}£, calf, damaged and cut 4d to i%&.

STOCK REPORT. - Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their Feilding stock sale as follows:—We had a fair entry of both sheep and cattle, for which there was a good demand. We passed two pens of cattle, but disposed of the whole of the yarding of sheep. The following is a list of prices realised : Cull empty ewes 10s sd, fair empty ewes in wool 14s .)d, good mixed hoggets 19s, fair mixed hoggets 16s 2d, good wether hoggets 17s 2d, cull mixed hoggets lis 9d, fat bullocks £7 2s to £8 6s, store cows £3 10s, fat oows £4 10s to £6 7s.

HIGH COMMISSIONER'S HEPORT. * Lourfou, November 10. The mutton market is steady. Shipments now arriving are very small. Canterbury brands %%&, North Island 3%d for light weights, B%d for heavy weights. Lamb—a he market is slightly weaker, with less demand. New Zealand stocks on hand are light. Canterbury are quoted at sJ£d. ~.,,,. Beet—-Tho market is steady, but without animation. The average price realised throughout the week is 122 s for choicest New Zealand, and stocks are almost exhausted. Danish butter 1265, Siberian 112 s, Argentine 120 s. The cheese market is quiet with no alteration in prices to report. The hemp market is quiet, with moderate "enquiry at last week's rates.

' New Zealand long-berried wheat 42s 6d, short-berried 41s 6d per 4961 b, ex granary. The market is quiet but steady Oat transactions are light. New Zealand Sparrowbills 27s 6d ner 8341b5, Danish 21s 64 per 3201b5. New Zealand beans, f.a.q., new crop 3S=i per 5041b5. Grain prices are nominal. The cocksfoot market is firm but the demand is only moderate. . Bright 171 b dressed seed 74s per cwt. -
