There was a very good attendance and the track was but little affected \yy the rain that had fallen. Speculation was very brisk, the investments amounting to £23,137, making a total for the meeting of £94,143 as against £91,302 last year. Results :

Results:— President's Handicap, one mile.— Rauparaha 81.0 (Deeley), 1; Dan Leno, 8.8, 2; Gay Paris, 8.11, 3. Also started: Lady Regel 9.3, Freernount 9.0, Tui 78., Don Hannibal 7.3, Kaitangata 7.2, Unidala 7.0, English 7.0. Won by a length. Time, 1.43. Divs, £1 17s and £3 2s. Dunborve, 8.7 ..1 Downfall, 8.10 .. 2 Necktie, 8.5 .. 3 Also started: Pohutu 8.10, First Gun 8.10, Tanewha 8.5, Cadence, 8.5, Port Light 8.5. Won by three lengths. Pohutu was in front Rafter the field had gone four furlougs, where Downfall was second. Entering the straight Pohutu fell and badly interfered with Downfall, who was knocked back to last. The mishap left Dunborve in the lead and he was never afterwards headed. Downfall jumped up with a surprising run and gained second place. Cadence also fell. Time, 1.43>£. Divs, £2O 3s and 17s.
