PRESBYTERIAN ASSEMBLY.

Per Press Association. Wellington, November 12. At the Presbyterian Assembly today the report on the general and financial statistics was read. It showed that there were on June 30th last 206 charges and 58 home mission stations; the sum of £23,246 was raised by congregations for buildings or property; of this sum £15,941 was raised by the northern presbyteries, and £'7305 by the southern presbyteries, and this"while the north was burdened with a debt on buildings of £45,803, the same debt in the south being £15,134. More than half of the total sum contributed for buildings in the south was raised, by oue congregation in Dunedin. The total building debt on congregations was £60,997. A return was taken of amounts standing to the credit of the building funds in the different congregations, and revealed the sum of £14,813 to the credit of these funds. The gross congregational Jre venue for the!year amounted to £114,798. The 'total number attending services was 7124, an increaso ot 2322.
