Towns led for the first mile. Arnst made the pace hot from the start, but did not pull. as scientifically as Towns. After a mile Arnst was to the front, and won comfortably by five lengths. In the race between Fogwell and Mitchell for £2OO a side and the | championship of the North Coast, Fogwell took the lead at half a mile and won by 12 lengths. Time, 19|min.
